Overview

Fellowship in Fetal Medicine is a structured, step by step, skill intensifying program. The Directors of the course are Dr.S.Boopathy Vijayaraghavan MD, DMRD and Dr.C.Sharmila MS(OG), Feellowship in FM with experience of three decades in training in Sonography. This course is intended for Radiologists and Obstetricians who wish to extend their career as a Specialist in Fetal Medicine.

This course will have 4 modules. Please listen to the modules & lectures in sequence.

Module 1 – Applied Physics & Basic Principles of Sonography

This module covers the basic physics and principles essential to perform sonographic scan of any type under the following topics:

1.       Applied Physics of Grayscale sonography

2.       Orientation of an Image

3.       Probe Movements

4.       Doppler Physics

5.       Propagation: Signs & Artifacts

6.       Knobology

7.       Basic Principles of Sonographic scan

It intends to improve your skills in performing this scan by understanding the basic physics applied to practice, and fine tuning the knowledge of the image and machine.

Module 2 – Second Trimester Anomaly Scan 

This  is a structured, step by step, skill intensifying online program. It intends to improve your skills in performing this scan, cutting down the scan time, applying a method for each fetal part, follow the protocols and check-list, improving the confidence and doing away with stress of missing the finding. It will cover the Guidelines, Survey scan, Fetal side, Biometry, Technique & protocol for Fetal anatomy, Getting a correct image, Genetic sonogram & Fetal environment. This programme contains lecture videos only. The image assessment module is not available.

Module 3 – First Trimester Scan

This module will cover the topics in first trimester under the headings of Early pregnancy, 11 to 14 weeks scan and Aneuploidy screening

Module 4 – Growth scan

This will cover the guidelines, technique & protocols of Growth scan, Color Doppler in obstetrics & Fetal growth restriction and Antepartum hemorrhage.
